INVITATION
Topic: Webinar (#2-2023) Hong Kong Business Environment and Current Political Developments
Date: 12 April 2023 (Wednesday)
Time: 9am Finnish time (2pm Hong Kong time), length 1,5 hours
Format: Teams-meeting
The Hong Kong economy weakened notably in 2022 after a visible expansion in 2021. Taking into account strong trade, economic and financial links with China, which is expected to grow more strongly in 2023, Hong Kong’s economy is likely to rebound significantly this year and GDP might grow by more than 4% following last year’s sharp contraction of -3.5%.
Hong Kong’s political landscape has changed significantly since the protests in 2019 and the imposition of the National Security Law on 30 June 2020. However, most businesses report that they are able to operate normally in the current political environment.
We have the honour to hear from Mr Timo Kantola, Consul General of Finland in Hong Kong, who will talk on Hong Kong Business Environment and Prospects of Political Development.
Opening remarks will be given by Mr Pertti Mero, Chair of the Finland-Hong Kong Business Association, and Mr Mika Finska, Consul for Trade and Investment at the Consulate General of Finland in Hong Kong.
Please register to the event by Monday 10th April.
A Teams-link will be sent to those registered to the webinar.
